2019 Chasing Venus New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc
Bright, vibrant, delightfully refreshing, Chasing Venus Sauvignon Blanc is the perfect party aperitif!
90 Points from Wine Spectator: " . . . mouthwatering, generous and intense, with a long finish."
Bright, crisp, lively and refreshing; there is no doubt that this is a New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Explosive aromas of tropical fruit, lychee and pineapple lead to big flavors of grapefruit, mango, papaya, gooseberry and lime.
The 2019 Chasing Venus Sauvignon Blanc is produced from grapes grown on small family farms in the acclaimed Marlborough appellation. The choice of vineyard sources produces the complex flavors that are so distinctive of Chasing Venus. The McLean vineyard is located in the heart of the world famous Marlborough appellation where the free-draining alluvial soils enhance the varietal tropical fruit and ripe green aromas.
This Sauvignon Blanc is great on its own as an apertif or paired with oysters, sushi, gazpacho or spicy Thai chicken noodles.
In 1769, Captain Cook took command of the HMS Endeavor, setting sail for the Pacific to study the passage of the planet Venus across the disc of the Sun. Little did the world know, this was a ruse for Cook’s true objective: He’d been commissioned by the British to find the mysterious and elusive “Southern Continent.” On this voyage, Cook became the first European to explore New Zealand, and he did eventually find Australia. Quite the accomplishment for a captain who was just out Chasing Venus.
